In Vancouver

Woot! I am finally in Vancouver! I am so excited to see all my family and go shopping!!
I am currently stationed in Chilliwak visiting my Aunt and Uncle and other family members. We'll be going to see my Aunt Carol and Uncle Vin on Monday; my Aunt Suman and my Uncle Vince; and then my Aunt Veronica and my Uncle Dave. I am soooo excited!
I haven't really been working on my story that much...been catching up with family and sitting in a van for 16 hours (ugh) so yeah. I mean, I'm trying to get this story done and out of the way so I can write a new one, but I can't find the time and energy to sit down and write. And don't forget all the distractions...
But, I promise I'll write some for you, Lynette.

Though you keep breaking the deviantART's rules with your screenshots from the WoW game.

FAQ #8: What does deviantART consider to be Art Theft? "Generally speaking any submission which is directly built upon the existing work of another artist or photographer can be considered to be a case of art theft. These works may feature screenshots, official artwork or sprites taken from a video game (...) but in every case the 'seed image' is the legal property of another artist."


And with this I ain't criticizing you, I'm simply trying to help you get your account right.

I don't think she's breaking the rules with that one. Doesn't the dA have a whole category for screenshots? I doubt the creators of WoW care since there's a whole screenshot button in the game, not to mention it's her character. I think she learned her lesson last time and we can leave her alone now.

And you're gonna just let that guy beat up on your woman? I don't ever remember AC/DC singing about letting dudes beat up on their girlfriends.

From what I've been seeing (and note I'm here since 2003) we aren't allowed to submit screenshots from something that has been made by someone else. If it's her character or not, it's still digital art, which has been made by some other artist. If she wants to share her gaming stuff, she can do so somewhere else. The purpose of deviantART is to share talent, knowledge and to improve artistic skills.

Anyway, this whole discussion topic could never end, since deviantART is not exactly the same anymore.

Agreed, deviantART is not the same anymore at all. It's a little more like photobucket every day.

However, while a complete and utter waste of our time, resources, and bogging down the system detracting from real artists who do real work, WoW screenshots are fairly common on DA now. I agree with you on principle, but I'm afraid it's really nothing out of the ordinary this time.

I don't know any other people that submit screenshots, so I'm not really inside this gaming stuff. I simply think it's pointless people being using deviantART as their photobucket or myspace. 40% of the deviants nowadays don't get the point of deviantART anymore.
